      Who taught you how to respond to anger? Most likely your parents or guardians at a very young age. "Controlling Your Anger" is a program designed for school age children, teens, young adults and senior citizens.


     Anger is a normal natural emotion that all humans experience ranging from mild irritation to extreme rage.  We must learn very early in life how to manage our emotions appropriately because extreme or explosive anger is unhealthy and can cause problems in our relationships.  This program will help participants to become more aware of their personal reactions to anger and how to manage it. 


     "Controlling Your Anger" program will help to explore your personal triggers to anger and new ways of responding to situations that provoke it.  Personal triggers are situations, person, place or things that can cause you to become angry.  Once triggers are identified, we will learn a variety of coping skills to help disfuse anger and how to calm down. This program is very successful in helping many people to make positive behavior changes.  

A FEW COPING SKILLS TO MANAGE ANGER - TRY THEM OUT!

  • Write down your feelings
  • Take 5 to 10 slow deep breaths (3 seconds each)
  • Listen to your favorite music
  • Talk to a trusted friend
  • Go for a walk, run or ride your bike
  • Relax and calm down, You are going to be ok!
